A little known fact about The Walter J. Mahoney State Offices building is: the land it is on was home to the 1st building remodeled and used solely for the use as a high school. The name was Central High. Central High was re-named Hutchinson Central High. In 1921 the school moved and the building was eventually demolished in 1926. Today it is named Hutchinson Technical School and located at West Chippewa Street and Elmwood Avenue.(see image) Construction of the new Walter J. Mahoney State Offices and courthouse was completed in 1931. It is directly across from the new Buffalo Police and Fire Headquarters in downtown Buffalo. The architect was Edward B. Green and Sons.
There are two pay lots across the street and a pay parking ramp. These are the best options for this building.

Walter J. Mahoney was a journalist while studying law here in Buffalo, NY. He was a well known state legislator and later he was appointed as a State Supreme Court Justice.
