The new owners are Mike Swinarski owner of South Buffalo Auto Parts and Vito Antonicelli previous owner of New York International Raceway Park in Leicester. Both are drag racing veterans.
Lancaster National Speedway and Drag-way was founded in 1959, It is a multi-use facility located on 77 acres just outside of Buffalo NY. Lancaster Speedway is a 1/8 mile Asphalt Drag Strip, a 5/8 mile Asphalt Oval and a 1/10 mile Asphalt Oval and hosts all of the Lancaster Speedway Events. Drag-race (funny car) and distance racing.
There have been quite a few racers, who raced on the Lancaster Speedway track. They have have gone on to set national records, have won races both nationally and internationally and brought multiple championships back home to Buffalo.
Since the creation of the famed drag strip, many racers have gone on to stardom. Racers Like “Fast” Fred Hahn, and his infamous “Black Mariah” Corvette. Dick “Barney” Oldfield and his "Motown Missile” car. And the notable accomplishments of Mike Janis. At the turn of the new millennium Mike became the second winning-est driver in IHRA Pro Modified history. Lancaster National Speedway is also responsible for developing the skills of the most winning-est sportsman driver in NHRA history. This of course is, Dan Fletcher, a resident of Rochester NY. Dan would compete at Lancaster before making it nationally on the racing circuit.
Lancaster National Speedway saw crowds in excess of 10,000 at inaugural races which included names like John Force and Etchells behind the wheel.
