Kostas started out on Hertel Avenue in the 1980's. This was a time when Buffalo NY was basically a party town.

There weren't many restaurants open after the early hours in the morning. Sure there were locally owned submarine shops like The Yellow Submarine, for instance. This one was right next to the famous Mulligans night club.(no longer in operation) Here you could find Hollywood celebrities and famous music artists throwing down Subs,sandwiches and fries for a quick fix. However where could one go and enjoy a full course greek or american meal at 2:30am? you guessed it! It was Kostas Greek food Buffalo NY Restaurant on Hertel Avenue. As you could imagine back then the place got a bit rowdy after Bar hours. But fast forward to 2000 and beyond and the hours aren't as long but the food is still quite awesome. A remodeled seating area and outdoor patio give this restaurant an aura of sophistication. Couple this with a friendly and knowledgeable staff then you have a winner.
